Hamburg is always worth a visit!

Hamburg has been moulded by the water, trade and its port more than any other city in Germany. The gateway to the world gives the city a very special atmosphere. Hamburg is a symbol of size, internationality and trade. The ships carry with them the aroma of the big wide world as they sail by. But this city in northern Germany has more to offer – there’s the new Hafencity development, with its Elbphilharmonie concert hall and modern architecture, or the St. Michaelis Church, one of the city’s best-known landmarks. Breathe in the fresh North Sea air while you explore the Speicherstadt warehouse district on a sight-seeing trip around the port and the numerous canals – the old warehouses tell the story of Hamburg’s past and if you’re lucky you can still catch the scent of some long-forgotten spice that was once stored here.

We’ve put together a few impressions for you to browse through:

Or why not simply relax on a trip to the beach on the river Elbe? It’s well worth a visit for artists and art-lovers too – with a wide range of museums, musicals, exhibitions and galleries, some with regular temporary shows, there’s something for every taste. If dancing and partying are more your idea of fun, you’re guaranteed to find something to suit your taste on the Reeperbahn, both at the weekend and during the week. Colourful and strident are the watchwords on the Hanseatic city’s fashionable pleasure mile. And why not round off your visit with a nice long shopping spree? Short breaks in Hamburg are becoming more and more popular too.
